The “Waldweihnacht” is a fun and popular family event close to the year end to celebrate the Christmas season. It is organized by the Swiss Outdoors Club and everybody is welcome. The event is attended by many members of the Vancouver Swiss Society with their families, relatives and friends. We look forward to welcome you to celebrate with us, see below the program and photos from previous Waldweihnachten.
Date: 15 December 2019 at 6 pm
Location: Mount Seymour Road at last sharp left turn before the ski hill parking lot (Swiss Flags will be at road side) turn into parking lot of Seymour group camp site.
Program: At 6 pm will proceed to the forest clearing and have a good old fashion Christmas sing along by Christmas tree with real candles. We will continue along the trail to a cabin in the woods and warm up by a roaring wood fireplace sit around tables covered with goodies. Gluewein, hot chocolate will be served. If all are good Santa will make an appearance.
Important: Please come well dressed for cold winter conditions: snow boots warm clothes and walking sticks as well rain gear may be needed.
We are looking for VOLUNTEERS to help with the event:
1 volunteer to pick up the cabin key around 3 or 4 pm in North Vancouver
2 to 3 volunteers to help setting up at 5 pm
1 or 2 volunteers to give the santa goodie bags
2 to 3 volunteers for cleaning and tear down

The Swiss Society of Vancouver and its Clubs and Choir, the Swiss Mountain Range Association, Swiss Consulate in Vancouver and Swiss Canadian Chamber of Commerce invite everyone to our celebration Swiss National Day.
The 2019 Swiss National Day celebrations (“August 1st”) will be held on Saturday, July 27, at the Mountain Range Chalet at 4141 Quarry Road in Coquitlam. The gates will open at 1 pm. Entrance is $10, everybody under 18 is free.
There will be activities for the kids, live performances by the Vancouver Swiss Choir and S-Bahn, and of course there will be the BBQ with Bratwurst and other yummy food. The singing of the Anthem and a Lampionumzug for the little ones will of course not be missing.Below a movie and photos from the activities in previous years.

The Swiss Society is looking for volunteers who are willing to work a shift (2 to 4 hours) at the BBQ preparing Bratwurst at the Swiss National Day celebrations (“August 1st”) on Saturday, July 27, at the Mountain Range Chalet at 4141 Quarry Road in Coquitlam.
Please send an email to webmaster@swiss-society.org if you can work a shift between 3pm to 11pm. your help is much appreciated and as a thank you the entrance fee will be waived for you.
We are also looking for a volunteer with FoodSafe certification for this event and future events.
