Sign-in is at 12:00pm and the games begin at 1:00pm sharp.

Joe Mueller’s Celebration of Life

The Swiss Outdoors Club and the Swiss Society of Vancouver wishes to invite you to Joe Mueller’s Celebration of Life

Saturday, September 23, 2017

12 noon: We meet at Minnekhada Regional Park in Coquittam for a hike up to High Knoll to spread Joe Mueller’s ashes and toast to his life.

2:30 pm: We meet at the Swiss Mountain Range Chalet for a Celebration of Life and a snack in his memory.

2017 Swiss National Day

The Swiss National Day (“August 1st celebrations”) will be held on Saturday, July 29, at the Mountain Range Chalet at 4141 Quarry Road in Coquitlam, starting at 4pm. Please find attached the program for more information.

We are still looking for volunteers that are willing to help with the set-up and at the event:

Saturday, July 22 for the set-up and preparations (the last email mistakenly had the wrong date for this)
Saturday, July 29 from noon for gate/entrance, grill during the event

Tyrol Lodge – Changes to Cancellation Policy

Dear Members, we would like to advise you about some changes to the cancellation rules and policies at the Tyrol Lodge. Please review the message below that we have received from the President of the Tyrol Ski & Mountain Club.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES IN RED & IMPORTANT REMINDERS BELOW- PLEASE COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CURRENT MEMBERS

1) 1) The Board of Directors approved the new Cancellation Period – 12pm the Monday prior to arrival, as of June 1, 2017. This will provide the Lodge Manager with more time to rebook cancelled rooms and members more time to make plans. Not meeting the new cancellation period will result in a cancellation fee. Please note that our website and all signs will also be updated very soon at the lodge. 
 
 
2)  The Board of Directors approved the new nightly lodge guest rate increases, effective June 1, 2017. The nightly Tyrol Lodge members & guests rate can change any time without notice. Please note that our website and all signs will also be updated soon at the lodge.

3) Cancellation Procedure
 
If it is necessary to cancel all or part of a reservation, notification should be made via email or telephone (604.932.5588) including the date, time of call, and all other details pertinent to the booking within the following timelines:
 Cancellation Period – 12pm the Monday prior to arrival, as of June 1, 2017
 
Note: Members who have made season-long bookings and who repeatedly cancel their booking may have their remaining bookings cancelled at the discretion of the Tyrol Lodge Manager and approval of the President and Lodge Chair.
 
4) Cancellation Fee
 
Cancellations or changes made to a booking with inadequate notice will incur a non-refundable charge to the members account equivalent to the dollar value of the booking. This charge must be paid in full before the Tyrol Lodge Manager will be able to accept a new booking under this account.
 

Swiss Choir Spring Concert

The choir would like to invite you to our 2017 spring concert.

Saturday, June 10th, 2017
All Saints Anglican Church

Time: 7:30pm

Our concert will be a pleasant entertainment for everybody. We will present you with a small selection of songs we will perform at the Singing and Yodeling Festival in California in June.
 
After the concert you are all invited to join us in the basement for coffee and goodies.

Tickets: $20.00, youth 12-19 $10.00, children under 12 free 

It was advertised in the Herald that we had invited a young Swiss girl from Abbotsford to sing at out concert. Due to unforeseen events she had to cancel. We hope we can invite her  to our next concert. 

Outdoors Club – Hike around Buntzen Lake

Date: Saturday, 22nd April, 11 am , 2017
 
We meet at 11 am  at the lowest parking lot , opposite the entrance to Buntzen Lake Park   ( near IOCO ) .
 The hike will take us around the lake; 10 km distance; 5 hour trip time incl. lunch break.
Level of difficulty:  medium.
 
Bring lunch and rain gear.
