In honour of our Senior Members 55+ at the Executive Hotels & Resorts, 405 North Road, Coquitlam BC
Parking free in the Underground Parking. Please leave your Number Plate # at the Reception Desk.
You will enjoy a good meal, some entertainment, have the opportunity to chat with old friends and make new acquaintances.
Doors open: 10:00 a.m.
Program starts: 11:00 a.m.
Cost of the Luncheon is: $25.00 for 2018 Swiss Society
Senior Members 65+
$36.00 for all others wishing to attend.

Please, read the Tyrol Lodge Holiday Pre-Booking Procedure 2018-19 carefully, fill out the Tyrol Lodge Holiday Member & Guest Booking Forms 2018-19, and return payment at the address indicated on the form.
Important Reminders on Holiday Booking
- Bookings will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis (by snail mail or Interac)
- Members Bookings open November 14, 2018 – December 14, 2018
- Guest Bookings: December 1, 2018 – December 14, 2018
- Guest Forms and Payments received before December 1, 2018 will be placed on a wait list.

Annual Christmas Concert
Musical Director: Dr. Sergio Pires
Saturday, November 24th, 2018 at 2pm
All Saints Anglican Church 7405 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby
Dr. Sergio Pires will conduct Christmas favourites from the French, German and Italian Region of Switzerland. Instrumentalists will play additional Christmas melodies followed by a Sing-Along. Social get-to-gether with complementary refreshments after the musical part.
Tickets $20.00 – kids under 12 are free. Tickets are available at the door or from any choir member.
Outdoor Club – Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival
Let’s make our own group for the Bald Eagle Watching, the walk is very easy and friendly for seniors and kids.
Join the Swiss Outdoors Club on Sunday, November 18th, at 12 pm, we will meet at the entrance of the Kilby Historic Site.
Don’t forget to come prepared for rainy conditions and your binoculars!
Swiss Herald – November 2018 Edition
Art Show
We are looking for artists young and old in our community. This is an announcement for an Art Show in Feb. 2019, so get creative! You can pick any medium you prefer: painting, sculpture, needlepoint, photography, quilting ect.
Get your kids, grandchildren, neighbours or friends involved to be creative! There will be categories and prizes for the children. Adults will be able to sell their creations and they will be mentioned in the Herald.
So please start to think about it and keep a look out for more information in the next issue of the Herald.

Fall is upon us and we are looking to a new season of singing. With this new beginning we would like to you joining us.
We all have left Switzerland for one reason or another. We have traded the old way of living to seek out new adventures in Canada. But sometimes when all the hustle and bustle is over and you find yourself at a quiet moment, you feel a loss or have avoid that needs filling, because the Swiss in you is still there.
Why not try connecting with your heritage and traditions? Keep the languages of Switzerland alive. Singing is an excellent way to connect. Besides that it is fun there are a lot of benefits to singing in a choir. Singing produces endorphins in your body that will make you feel good and you will bring joy to others through the music. By the way you do not have to be Swiss to join us you just have to like to sing or like to try something new.
By joining us you will make friend, camaraderie, stay connected, learn new things and have fun. Yes, our music is not Hip Hop or Rock and Roll, but nobody says we cannot become a bit hipper.
The choir is not a time consuming activity but it is a commitment we practice 2 hours a week at 121 E Columbia in New Westminster and perform 4-5 times a year, sometimes out of town.

2018 Jass Tournament
The Swiss Canadian Mountain Range Association and the Swiss Outdoors Club of Vancouver invite everyone to a Jass-Tournament
Sunday, 28 October 2018 at the SCMRA Chalet in Coquitlam.
Sign-in is at 12:00pm and the games begin at 1:00pm sharp.
Donations for prices are welcome.
Costs are $5 Schieber and $5 Handjass.
Kitchen & Bar will be open at the Chalet and the dinners can be purchased for $15.00.-
